The story of Medusa-Copenhagen began in 1997 in a small shop in Christianshavn.

It was here that Maj-Britt and Rie – mother and daughter – created a creative universe filled with whimsical figures, imaginative ornaments, candle holders, and designs with plenty of personality. What started as a shared passion for creating something different has since evolved into a Danish design brand that brings joy to homes in Denmark and the rest of the world.

At Medusa-Copenhagen, we believe that interior design should evoke emotions. It should make you smile, create memories, and help make your home personal. That's why we design with humor, warmth, and a twinkle in our eye – always focusing on the small details that make a big difference.

In our collection, you'll find both the familiar classics that many collect year after year, and new unique designs that allow you to create your own universe. All our figures and decorations are created to be mixed and matched and to fit perfectly into your home and your personal style.

Over the years, our passion for design has taken us around the world. We have met talented collaborators, drawn inspiration from different cultures, and gained experiences that have helped shape Medusa-Copenhagen into the brand we are today. Although much has changed since 1997, our values remain the same: creativity, quality, presence, and the joy of creating something that lasts – both in expression and in heart.

We are proud to still be a family-owned Danish design brand, where each collection is created with love, curiosity, and a desire to bring a little extra joy into everyday life.

ONE THING IS CERTAIN , HOWEVER

It's exceptional craftsmanship all the way through. It's always the same process from time to time when a new product comes to life. We shape the figures, some are modeled in papier-mâché, cut or drawn, and others are put together with glue and glitter.

After that, the finished models are ready to be recreated with the utmost precision. This happens in molds, and then the cast units are refined by hand to make them perfect.

Finally, each figure is hand-painted precisely like the original prototypes. This means that it is a very special craft that gives the figures their very own unique expression.
